Job Summary
RIG MECHANIC
(OIL & GAS DRILLING)
LOCATION: Field-based drilling operations
ROSTER: 21 Days On / 12 Hour Shifts
ONGOING OPPORTUNITY
RIG MECHANICS WANTED
RIG MAINTENANCE
- Responsible for all mechanical systems on the drilling rig and camp facilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on plant and equipment
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and manage critical component recertification
- Complete work orders and maintenance records through company systems
FIELD OPERATIONS
- Provide mechanical support to ensure uninterrupted drilling operations
- Diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Assist with shutdowns equipment upgrades and refurbishment work
- Provide supervision and instruction to maintenance support staff
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE WITH
Caterpillar Detroit Engines Hydraulic Systems
Centrifugal Pumps Pneumatic Systems
Toyota / Nissan / Isuzu 4x4 Fleet
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Trade Qualified Mechanic (Cert III or higher)
- Heavy Diesel experience
- Oil & Gas or Mining industry experience (highly regarded)
- Strong diagnostic and preventative maintenance skillsAbility to work independently as a sole charge Rig Mechanic
- Current unrestricted Manual Drivers Licence
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
REQUIRED TICKETS
- First Aid & CPR
- Confined Space
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Breathing Apparatus
- 4WD / Field Vehicle Operation
- Wellsite Permit to Work Training
THE ROLE OFFERS
- 3-4 months initially with long term ongoing opportunities for the right person
- $1100 per day
- 3:3 roster with 12 hour shifts
- Work across drilling rigs and camp infrastructure
- Hands-on mechanical role supporting field operations
