Westfield High School is is seeking an Assistant Principal for the Pathways program which is part of Westfield High School
RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
SALARY:
The salary and terms of conditions will be in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield Public Schools Unit B contract.
This position subject to funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for the successful performance of such functions as assigned by the principal in accordance with policy and practice as determined by the Superintendent and School Committee.
- Be assigned such duties to most advantageously use the particular talents background and expertise of the assistant principal by the building principal.
- Be responsible for teacher evaluation as delegated by with principal.
- Work with teachers as it relates to the improvement of instruction curriculum development and the development of responsible student behavior.
- Be responsible for working closely with the principal and staff in designing the master schedule.
- Assist the principal in the overall administration and discipline of the school.
- Serve as principal in the absence of the regular principal.
- Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
- Supervise the preparation of student schedules.
- Work with faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
- Requisition supplies textbooks and equipment conducting inventories maintaining records and check on receipts for such material.
- Assist in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
- Assume responsibility for coordinating transportation custodial cafeteria and other support services.
- Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
- Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deal with special cases as necessary.
- Serve with parent faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
- Perform such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct.
- Supervise teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.
