About the Role:

The Packaging Lead will work closely with all leads and managers to ensure packaging efficiency and priorities within the packaging team utilize/troubleshoot all packaging equipment and standard processes and help to guide new packaging employees. Packaging Lead will also be responsible for all packaging and equipment. This role will be full-time onsite at our facility in Kansas City.

In this role you will:

  • Support the Operations and Logistics Managers in daily operations
  • Evaluate and ensure efficiency completeness and consistency of all packaging lines
  • Communicate expectations and assign tasks to the packaging team
  • Train the support team on operational procedures to ensure constancy across our product lines
  • Ensure machines are functioning properly and prioritize maintenance in alignment with the Operations Manager
  • Inspect finished products visually and manually to guarantee accuracy and quality as well as auditing completed batches before transferring to fulfillment
  • Lead the team on new projects and manage the daily packaging schedule
  • Perform support staff duties as needed
  • Delegate tasks to support staff including material organization waste disposal and cleaning packaging areas
  • Create and print compliant and accurate batch labels to ensure we remain compliant
  • Utilize our seed-to-sale system METRC effectively and to government standards
  • Receive and manage transfers from the production team
  • Understand procedures for safely opening and closing the facility
