Job Summary
Service Dispatcher / Shop Control Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and resultsdriven Service Dispatcher / Shop Control Coordinator to manage repair order flow and technician productivity in a highvolume Chevrolet service department. This role is central to maximizing labor sales maintaining shop efficiency ensuring availability of parts and tools and supporting compliance with GM warranty and certification standards.
The Dispatcher acts as the operational hub between Technicians Service Advisors Parts and Management to ensure work is completed efficiently accurately and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch & Repair Order Management
- Shop Productivity & Workflow Control
- Maintain technician skill and certification tracking
- Dispatch advanced or EV work only to properly trained technicians
- Track shopowned and specialty tool inventory and availability
- Coordinate workflow around technician training schedules
- Track parts arrival and prevent delays impacting production
- Reassign work when parts availability changes
- Monitor rental vehicle usage and duration tied to repair orders
- Verify completed vehicles meet dealership quality standards
- Ensure inspections test drives and documentation are completed
- Support GM warranty documentation accuracy to prevent chargebacks
- Coordinate daily with Service Advisors Technicians and Parts
- Provide accurate job status and timing updates
- Escalate workflow or quality concerns as needed
Qualifications
- Dispatch shop control or similar operational role preferred
- Strong understanding of repair order flow and technician operations
- Excellent organization communication and problem solving skills
