We are seeking a passionate purposeful and customer centric leader to join our team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and Gears manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in southeast Michigan and Ohio.

  • Utilize machining process knowledge particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality costs timing and footprint.

  • Lead equipment installation power on run capability and equipment handover to the powertrain plants.

  • Initiate bids evaluate recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.

  • Work with OEMs suppliers Product and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues.

  • Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities safety ergonomics material handling & kitting tooling and gauging.

  • Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput.

  • Travel up to 100% to SE Michigan and Ohio Manufacturing Plants during equipment installation and launch.



Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • 3 years of engineering and manufacturing experience in gears or round parts.

  • Ability to travel domestically - up to 50%

Even better you may have...

  • Working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings

  • Strong communication skills along with the ability to work in a cross functional team

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives

  • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
  • Proven record of customer focused work
