We currently have an opportunity available for a Procurement Intern.
Summary:
The Procurement Intern will gain professional business exposure assisting the Corporate Procurement Department with a variety of projects including basic level purchasing analyses day to day purchasing records maintenance and cost analysis. Projects will often involve working as part of a team with several other departments to collect data that is crucial to improving operations. The intern will create and present a final presentation to the department members and senior executives of TPA at the conclusion of the assignment.
Duties:
- Assist Buyers with sourcing of required materials parts and services to support a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation
- Create and maintain purchase orders within SAP & EAM
- Work with suppliers to obtain order acknowledgements and expedite orders as necessary
- Maintain department spreadsheets and distribute reports internally
- Work on assigned projects to obtain department cost saving objectives
Requirements:
- Ideal course work would include: Supply Chain Management Purchasing Analysis and various business related courses
- Must be proficient in MS Office - Word Excel Powerpoint
- Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to report in a clear and concise fashion
- Must have a strong work ethic be highly self-motivated and strong self confidence
- Strong negotiation skills are preferred
- Must be organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
- Must maintain excellent attendance
Length of Employment:
- The internship is a full-time forty hour per week position
- The assignment will begin on May 26th and end on August 21st
Compensation:
- This is a paid internship; the compensation is $19.00/hour
