Job Summary
Overview
The Family Services Worker will provide direct assistance to corps clients to alleviate the immediate need for food clothing utility assistance and referral.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Interview and assess clients providing direct assistance or referral to outside agencies as appropriate.
- Assist in administering seasonal social service programs.
- Maintain accurate records for each client perinternal/external funding guidelines.
- Compile the program statistics monthly per organizational and funding guidelines.
- Attend community events meetings/seminars/workshops at the direction of the Corps Officers.
FOOD PANTRY
- Order oversee and verify billing for delivery of pantry food
- Stock pantry shelves
- Maintain accurate pantry records for internal and external reporting
- Manage client intake and annual re-verification
PRODUCE GIVEAWAY
Order and oversee the food delivery
Set up and take out tents for the produce giveaway
Secure volunteers
DIRECT ASSISTANCE
Interview clients maintain confidential client files update each visit and assist with services suchas emergency food utilities rent and other basic needs
- Maintain Social Services statistics
- Maintain accurate assistance records for internal and external reporting
- Oversee soup kitchen and summer lunch program
SPECIAL PROJECTS
- Work with Corps Officer on special projects such as:
- Christmas Assistance Program
- Summer Camp
- Back to School Project
Qualifications
- LSW preferred but not required
- Knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of various software including but not limited to Outlook Microsoft Word Excel or ability to learn quickly.
- Must be able to routinely lift and carry boxes weighing 50 pounds or more
- Serve safe certified
- Valid Motor Vehicle Drivers License
