A regional healthcare laboratory system is seeking a Histology Technician for a 13-week contract assignment.
This role is responsible for performing high-volume histology procedures in a modern anatomic pathology laboratory. The technician will prepare human tissue specimens through cutting staining and mounting techniques to support accurate diagnosis of diseases and medical conditions.
The ideal candidate will follow established laboratory protocols and quality standards while contributing to improvements in laboratory processes and methods.
Perform high-volume histology procedures in an anatomic pathology laboratory.
Prepare human tissue specimens by cutting staining and mounting slides for microscopic analysis.
Follow established laboratory standards procedures and safety protocols.
Ensure accurate preparation and processing of tissue samples to assist with diagnosis and disease evaluation.
Maintain quality control and proper documentation of laboratory testing procedures.
Assist with evaluation and implementation of new laboratory techniques and methods when required.
Support laboratory staff in maintaining efficient workflow and timely processing of specimens.
The laboratory team supports hospital inpatient emergency department outpatient and clinic testing services.
Laboratory services include testing of blood body fluids and tissue samples to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing diseases and medical conditions.
All laboratories operate under strict regulatory compliance and are licensed and accredited by national laboratory oversight organizations ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
Candidates must be actively following or have completed an approved Histotechnician or Histotechnologist training pathway to meet certification eligibility requirements.
ASCP AMT or equivalent Histotechnician / Histotechnologist certification Required.
