Regal Rexnord is seeking students interested in materials science to join our internship/coop program at our Fort Wayne IN facility. This program includes three sessions per year with start dates aligned to students spring summer and fall semesters.
About the Role
As a Materials Science Intern/Coop you will work sidebyside with our Chemist in the Materials Development Center. You will gain hands-on experience supporting both failure analysis and new material/component qualification for new product development and product improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform analysis of plastics paints lubricants and other nonmetallic materials.
Operate analytical instrumentation including: TGA DSC IC FTIR SEM/EDS XRF
Utilize environmental chambers and other lab equipment to support testing.
Assist with failure analysis of customer returns.
Support evaluation and testing for new product development initiatives.
Perform tasks requiring physical activity including walking up and down stairs and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Chemistry or related scientific degree program.
Completion of at least one semester of Analytical Chemistry is encouraged.
Students pursuing or enrolled in a Materials Science minor are strongly encouraged to apply.
Interest in handson laboratory work and analytical testing.
