ADS LLC a Unit of IDEX Corporation is a leader in wastewater monitoring equipment and services.The ADS Product Development organization is expanding its team to deliver advancements in the invention of low poweredlow maintenanceIoT connected devices that enableaccurateandtimelydata-driven business decisions.The ElectricalEngineerwill play a key role in modernizing the approach to designdevelopmentand testing with specialization in circuit board layout design and certification processes.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in transformation ofhardware products to deliver leading-edge solutions that leap ahead of the competition and solidify the companys stance as an innovative trusted solutions advisor.
Provide theelectronicsengineering design of device circuitry to include researchingdesigningand testing of the electronic components of the hardware system.Experienced in the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software to aid in engineering tasks.
PCBdesign layout and placement of complex multi-layer PCBAs to produce low cost low noise and high reliability assemblies.
Implement electrical circuit tointerfaceenvironmental sensors requiring excitation and signal conditioning such as DAC ADC filters sensors such as pressure temperature piezo ultrasonics. Conduct electricalcomponentresearch support part obsolescence and supply chain challenges.
Utilizea prototype and proof of concept feedback system that enables the ability to rapidly test mechanical firmware and electronic component design assumptionsin lab and field conditions.
Design and fabricate test control apparatus and equipment.
Utilize ISO controlled design and development process and all required documentation via PLM system.
Execute engineering design reviews and participate in cross-functional stage gate approvals.
Develop validation and verification test procedures to confirm product specificationsincluding simulation and physical testing.
Support and execute againstan auditable certification process for assurance of product performance in potentially explosive atmospheres.Become familiar with intrinsic safety requirements and ensure thatnew designscan meet them and support certification effort and calculations.
Assistin all aspects of hardware engineering offering ideas and innovative concepts to solve problems.
Collaborate and effectively communicate with a smallteamto develop products within requirements.
Remain up to date onthe latesttechnologies to drive creative solutions for customers.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience required.
2years of professionaldesignexperience inschematic andPCB layout design
Soldering and prototype construction experience
Regulatory compliance experience (intrinsic safety experience preferred)
ECADexpertise(Altium preferred)
Working knowledge ofregulatorycertification processes and standards preferred
Able to communicate effectively orally and in written form
Experience developing and building test equipment for design and production stage electronics
