Job Summary

Position Overview

The Safety Maintenance LOTO / Equipment Technical Writer plays a vital role in ensuring the safe operation maintenance and servicing of facility equipment. This position is responsible for writing and maintaining Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Alternative Disabling (ADP) procedures and assisting with Safety based compliance programs to Cal/OSHA standards and company safety policies. The Technical Writer will work closely with EHS to support the Maintenance and Production departments to mitigate hazards prevent injuries and maintain automated reliability.

Schedule: Monday Friday 8am-5pm (8-hour flex schedule)

Essential Job Functions

Strong understanding of OSHA LOTO requirements (29 CFR 1910.147).
Develop review and update machine-specific LOTO and ADP procedures.
Perform annual audits to confirm LOTO and ADP procedures are properly applied during maintenance or routine repetitive tasks.
Perform verification checks to ensure LOTO procedures are properly applied during maintenance or routine repetitive tasks.
Audit LOTO locks and devices regularly. Support EHS initiatives related to machine safety energy control hazard identification and risk reduction.

Non-essential Job Functions

Assist with regulatory and non-regulatory safety audits walkthroughs and peer observations.
Create optional reports dashboards or presentations beyond required maintenance and LOTO records.

Requirements

Experience working with creating and/or managing LOTO procedures.
Background in manufacturing processing or industrial environments.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions and around machinery.
Knowledge of PLCs motors conveyors pumps and electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Use of PPE required.
