Database Engineer

ISS STOXX is actively hiring for a Database Engineer in Oracle and SQL for Mumbai (Goregaon East) location.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer with a strong foundation in Oracle (primarily 19c) and SQL Server (2022) technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in traditional relational database development while being eager to grow into AIaugmented engineering practices as our platforms evolve.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with application teams to deliver scalable cloudready database solutions for high-volume transactional workloads.

• Design and optimize relational database schemas and data models for enterprise-scale systems.

• Use AIpowered development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot SQL Assistants) to enhance SQL development refactoring and tuning with future opportunities to adopt Oracle Select AI as we transition to newer Oracle releases.

• Drive advanced performance tuning indexing and query optimization using both traditional and AIaugmented insights.

• Modernize database platforms to improve reliability maintainability and AI readiness.

• Participate in the full SDLC including requirements design development testing tuning and operations support.

• Work with version control tools (e.g. SVN GitHub).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in database development.

• Hands-on expertise in PL/SQL TSQL and performance troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of database internals query plans indexing strategies partitioning and schema design.

• Experience supporting large datasets highperformance transactional systems and complex batch processing workflows.

• Experience using AIassisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot SQL Assistants) to improve development speed and code quality.

• Exposure to vector databases RAG architectures or LLMaugmented workflows (conceptual understanding is acceptable).

• Experience with prompt engineering for AIgenerated SQL or schema design.

• Python or datascience exposure.

• Certifications in Oracle SQL Server cloud platforms or AI/ML technologies.
