ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Program Manager Water Demand Analysis and Programs is responsible for coordinating and administering the implementation of environmental activities and projects; providing technical guidance on environmental programs and projects; fostering partnerships/collaborations with local municipalities regulatory agencies non-government organizations and community groups; and preparing reports to meet Regional requirements.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

Researches develops organizes coordinates and administers environmental activities to ensure compliance with Provincial and Regional requirements.
Obtains input and requirements from other Branches and Departments of the Region for the design and implementation of outreach iniatives and partnership projects.
Recommends the retention of consulting services in accordance with the Regions Purchasing By-Law and the Branch and Departments policies and procedures.
Prepares project plans; obtains all necessary approvals and prepares any reports necessary such as Committee reports project reports etc. for the Manager.
Undertakes research related to water conservation.
Prepares reports to management on the status of ongoing water conservation initiatives and provides background analysis and recommendations on specific issues.
Develops and maintains stakeholder database(s).
Analyzes social norms cultural values and ethnic beliefs of identified groups to develop relevant campaigns and material.
Participates on project teams and other cross-functional groups as required to facilitate the progress of new and ongoing programs and initiatives.
Participates in task groups and teams for the Branch and Department; undertakes specialized assignments and represents the Branch and Department at seminars workshops meetings etc as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma Program in Civil Engineering Environmental related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three (3) years experience in project/program management and implementation in any or all aspects of water system planning water conservation environmental social marketing environmental education environmental community outreach environmental partnership development and collaboration.
Valid Ontario Class G drivers license and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
Knowledge of water and wastewater related practices and policies.
Sound knowledge of environmental principles such as water conservation and efficiency sustainability inflow infiltration reduction urban and regional land use planning.
Demonstrated project management skills to lead a project or work group organize numerous tasks set priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant legislation regulations and industry standards.
Demonstrated ability in the Regions core competencies.
Demonstrated communication skills to convey issues present and facilitate information to varied audiences and deal effectively with stakeholders.
Strong ability to develop relationships and work in a welcoming and inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential.
Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications.
Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
