Job DescriptionHamilton-Wenham Regional School District seeks per diem substitute teacher(s). A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction managing the classroom environment and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Substitute teachers will work effectively with the school administration and other teachers to minimize any potential transition problems from the teacher to substitute and substitute to teacher. Substitute teachers must implement teacher lesson plans assign student class/homework and maintain classroom control and discipline. Substitute teachers must also complete a daily report or evaluation to communicate any pertinent information resulting from the days to school office at the beginning and end of school day to pick up/drop off required materials/schedule of sign in and out procedures as determined by the a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and involvement of the the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for each predetermined instructional methods and materials that are deemed the most appropriate for meeting lesson a neat and orderly classroom. Straightens chairs tables clears chalkboard attendance in accordance with school procedures indicating to students at the beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in accordance with school and district that the students are never left unattended in the perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty and hall emergency evacuation routes for the assigned classrooms and executes them according to school policy in the event of an emergency drill or an actual and executes procedures for referring students who are disciplinary reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and a professional and positive rapport with othersKnows and executes school safety proceduresMaintains strict confidentiality concerning student recordsPerforms other related duties as directed by performing the duties of the job the substitute teacher is frequently required to stand talk walk and sit for long periods of time. The substitute is directly responsible for safety well-being and work output of students. A substitute needs to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the parents students and other staff.
