Job Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry / Step-Down Unit is responsible for evaluating patients assisting physicians and delivering high-quality patient-centered care. The RN will assess patient conditions develop individualized care plans and implement therapeutic nursing interventions while adhering to professional nursing practice standards.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients and assist physicians with treatment and patient care.
Plan implement and document nursing care based on patient needs.
Perform patient assessments and determine care priorities through assessment planning intervention and evaluation.
Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care based on ongoing patient assessments.
Provide therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
Document patient care according to clinical standards and best practices.
Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and quality patient outcomes.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Required Education
Preferred Education
Required Certifications & Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license or compact license).
BLS (AHA) certification.
ACLS certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Telemetry Certification.
Stroke Education: 4 CEU Contact Hours.
Clinical Experience Required
Care of cardiac telemetry patients.
Experience with chest tubes.
Experience caring for postcardiac catheterization patients.
