Who We Are Seeking: We are seeking a compassionate culturally grounded and detail-oriented professional to serve as our Tribal Child and Family Caseworker providing child-centered casework and advocacy for Tribal children and families involved in our Traditional Tribal Court and State child welfare proceedings. This individual supports placement stability visitation planning and the tracking of childrens educational medical behavioral health safety and cultural needs while maintaining accurate documentation and referral follow-up. The ideal candidate is organized collaborative and committed to strengthening families and supporting the development of the Tribes growing Child Welfare program through policy procedure and program foundation work.

Qualifications Education & Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience is preferred. We are willing to provide training for CNV citizens.
  • A bachelors degree in social work or a related field is preferred but can be substituted with two additional years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team.
  • Excellent time management problem-solving and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet sometimes competing deadlines while working independently and with others.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.

Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Drivers license and the ability to be insured on CVTCs vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.

Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment. Continued employment is also contingent upon successfully passing required annual background checks.



Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638 preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
