The Position

Head of Vendor Management IT Services

Head of Vendor Management IT Services (Practice Leader) is accountable for the entire lifecycle of the IT Service Accounts sub-function. This role manages RDTs most critical high-value strategic service partnerships (e.g. global system integrators and consultancy firms). You are responsible for defining the functional vision strategy and governance roadmap ensuring it aligns with RDTs organizational goals and compliance standards. This role demands a combination of deep relationship management expertise vendor management acumen and technical service delivery insight. You will lead your team to build and deliver services that meet the evolving needs of RDT users while maintaining strict adherence to strategy quality and compliance protocols.

Description of the area

IT Service Accounts manages the lifecycle performance and commercial health of RDTs primary strategic partners. This sub-function ensures that these high-scale partnerships deliver maximum value through structured governance risk management and continuous improvement frameworks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision: Accountable for the Strategic Service Accounts sub-function. Defines the functional strategy and roadmap for strategic vendor engagement ensuring services are desirable and sustainable.

  • Stakeholder & Business Partnership: Serves as the main contact for internal partners actively managing relationships and expectations regarding the (sub-)functions performance and deliverables. Works closely with IT stakeholders and internal users to identify prioritize and address the needs for policies their operationalization and associated controls.

  • Influence & Collaboration: Collaborates with a broader set of cross-functional teams and is responsible for aligning these teams around the functional roadmap and objectives gathering feedback and setting expectations. Provides regular updates to the stakeholders.

  • Account Governance: Serve as the senior escalation point and decision authority for strategic vendor performance risk and delivery. Establish and lead regular Executive Steering Committees with partners.

  • Operational Excellence: Define and monitor KPIs/OKRs to analyze vendor performance. Use data to drive continuous improvement and optimize the service delivery model.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team of vendor account managers. Mentor staff and ensure alignment of resources with RDT project requirements.

  • Financial & Resource Mgmt: Own the budget for the immediate team. Develop business cases for significant process changes or new functional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: 10 years in Technology Sourcing Vendor Management or Service Delivery. At least 5 years in a leadership role preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Functional Skills: Deep expertise in Strategic Sourcing IT Service Management (ITSM) and GxP/CSV requirements.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to translate high-level business goals into a concrete functional roadmap and lead global diverse teams.

Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors including your skills experience qualifications and addition to base pay this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 20% subject to both individual and company performance.
