Job Description Summary
The undergraduate research assistant will support a faculty-led research project examining how algorithmically generated student groups influence compatibility stigma reduction and interaction quality in first-year STEM classrooms. The study uses Social Network Analysis ( SNA ) to model relationship formation and collaboration patterns with a specific focus on Multiple Regression Quadratic Assignment Procedure (MR- QAP ) statistical modeling.
Responsibilities
Clean structure and manage relational network datasets Implement and validate MR- QAP analyses using Python Conduct additional SNA metrics (e.g. centrality density modularity) Assist with data visualization and interpretation of network graphs Document reproducible workflows and statistical procedures Contribute to research reporting and manuscript preparation as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Strong Python programming skills (required) Experience with data analysis libraries (e.g. pandas numpy statsmodels) Comfort working with relational data structures and matrix-based statistics Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
