DescriptionClean Harbors in La Porte TX is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician II (Facility Maintenance Repair II) to join our safety-conscious team! This role requires knowledge of maintenance procedures tools equipment as well as the ability to troubleshoot and address maintenance issues efficiently while performing daily preventative maintenance as needed.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Pay schedule and testing requirements are governed by the union contract.
Work Schedule (per CBA): Rotating shift schedule consisting of 4 days on / 4 days off (on-call) followed by 4 nights on 4 days off (off-call). This role supports a 24/7/365 operations which includes weekends and federal holidays.
Wage (per CBA): $37.82/HR; Additional earnings may include overtime opportunities and other benefits outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

As part of the hiring process and in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements selected candidates will be required to successfully complete:
- Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test
- 1G Welding Pre-Qualification Test
- 3G Welding Pre-Qualification Test

Responsibilities- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Disassemble/Reassemble heavy and mobile equipment to troubleshoot diagnose and repair
- Fabricate metal pieces and replace gaskets as needed
- Troubleshoot repair and test all equipment to ensure functionality
- Utilize propylene cutting rig
- Repair equipment using MIG and/or stick welding
- Other duties as assigned
- Enter data for repairs diagnosis preventative maintenance inventory check out and time
- Complete daily work and training on computers
QualificationsWhat does it take to work at Clean Harbors
High School Diploma or equivalent - required;
Pass 1G Welding Pre-Qualification Test - required;
Pass 3G Welding Pre-Qualification Test - required;
Pass Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Pre-Qualification Test - required;
3 years with heavy industrial maintenance and mobile equipment repair in plant environment
Air Conditioning Certification or equivalent required
Caterpillar and Kubota engine repair experience certifications or education a plus!
Hydraulics systems troubleshooting repair required
Must understand schematics to troubleshoot 12&24v heavy equipment systems
Required cutting rig (propylene cutting torch)
Valid drivers license
Computer literate
