Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a WO (Intelligence Int An) to serve as INT RES COMPONENT WO COORD at RAF WYTON on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of being not before 16 September 2026 (or later subject to candidate status).

The Intelligence Reserves Wing (IRW) WO Co-ord is the conduit between the IRW HQ and RAF Wyton to enable Reserve Service Days. Routinely responsible for mustering up to 350 Intelligence Reserves for access to secure locations across the UK the WO Coord oversees the security administration for 3 Reserve Squadrons whilst developing and maintaining working relationships across the various units at RAF Wyton and the wider Intelligence community.

Responsible for -

  • Being the primary RAF Intelligence Reserves POC and representative in Pathfinder Building at RAF Wyton. Ensuring that all RAF Intelligence Reserves SP are suitably DV Cleared for access to Pathfinder Building. Close liaison between RAF Wyton HQ IRW at RAF Waddington and Ph2 Trg School is essential to maximising Defence output.
  • Gaining andmaintaininga full understanding of the role of each sqn be they more thematic (in the case of 7010 Sqn) or geographically specific (in the case of a GSS (AOSS) Sqn).
  • Provide oversight and a central POC for weekend tasking for the whole of the Intelligence Reserves Component whether working from their sqn location (in the case of GSS (AOSS) Sqns) or within Pathfinder Building at RAF Wyton. The WO Co-ordwill attend all Int Res Wyton working weekends (approx. 1/month).
    • 7006 Sqn:Provide the single POC between ASIC Regular staff and the Reservists ensuring that suitable tasking is in place and articulated clearly by the requester before communicating this to the Sqn execs no later than 1000 on the Sat.
    • 7010 Sqn:Provide a single POC between NCGI and 1 ISR Wg Regular staff and the Reservists ensuring that tasking is in place and tasking is unusual and operationally urgent the Wg Co-ordwill articulate the changes to the Sqn execs on Sat am.
    • 7630 Sqn:7630 personnel will attend RAF Wyton on a quarterly basis (April July October January). Their access and tasking should be overseen by the Wg Co-ord.
    • GSS Sqns:The Wg Co-ordwill take complete responsibility for the facilitation of RSD opportunities for GSS PTVRs within Pathfinder Building. This can include liaison with Pathfinder Sy & Vetting for Read On / Read Off liaison with RAF Wyton for RLS RAF Wyton Sy team for access to the unit and J6 for provision of AS IT accounts. The Wg Co-ord will engage proactively with visiting GSS PTVR SP for the purpose of oversight and feedback.
  • Judging the prioritisation (in consultation with Int Res Wg SO3 Ops) of competing tasking requests balancing available preparation time and operational pressures.
  • Having a comprehensive awareness of personnel availabilitylocationand IT access ahead of a tasking weekend. This will be achieved by building productive relationships with each Sqn.
  • Conducting continued liaison with past and potential tasking units to ensure a full understanding of their general and specificrequirements andensure that tasks are both achievable and meaningful.
  • Provide wider Stn support to Sqn Cdrs to enable them to coordinate and facilitate (whereappropriate) taskingduring each of the RAF Intelligence Reserves weekends at RAF Wyton.
  • Liaising with Air Int Wg DIA Chicksands to ensure that the security clearances of personnel attending the RAFIC-R areinitiatedand managed to enable access to Pathfinder Buildingimmediatelyafter graduation.
  • Providing oversight and support to the completion of Professional Workplace Assessment (PWAs) for RAF Int Reserves PTVRs at RAF Wyton.
  • Being a source of Wyton-based administrative security and IT advice for all sqns to include coordination of transit accommodation at RAF Wyton during Working Weekends and other periods outside of this monthly occurrence.
  • Providing a source of objective careers advice to PTVR Intelligence personnel in consultation with SO3 Ops and the individuals sqn chain of command (CoC). CoC endorsement is required prior to any mobilisation or use of ACS/RSDs.
