Prn Er Tech

The ER Tech in the Emergency Department setting is responsible for assisting the RN and Physician with patient care carrying out delegated tasks within their scope of practice.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides supportive care to the patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge and/or physician.
• Performs patient skill sets such as taking height and weight measurements vital signs IV initiations blood draws documenting as needed to assist the nurse and physician with patient care.
• Applies proper techniques and practices while performing diagnostic testing using lab procedures.
• Reports lab results immediately to Registered Nurse and/or Attending Physician.
• Assists Registered Nurse and Attending Physician with assessments examinations and treatment.
• Monitors stock and restocks supplies as needed.
• May assist in various office duties such as front office registration activities filing shredding scanning data entry as needed or required by administration.
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively as a multidisciplinary team member; supports and assists team members in all activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of general principles of medicine as can be derived from an EMT or paramedic training program.
• Must maintain calm in stressful and chaotic situations.
• Basic Computer knowledge.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Education and Experience:

• Two (2) years experience as an ER Technician.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification encouraged.
• PALS Certification encouraged.

Additional Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing walking and lifting.
• Physical demands of position include vision hearing repetitive motion and environment.

• You will adhere to the Companys Information Security Policy and Procedures and support standard operating procedures to protect Company systems and data.
• You will alert management immediately with any expected system or data compromises and/or system failure impacting the security confidentiality availability and integrity of Ally Medical and customer data.
• You will be required to attend an annual Information Security Awareness Training.
