Day Camp Counselor I
Starting Hourly Rate: $16.93
The day camp counselor acts as the educational programmers aid for the summer day camp. The main responsibility is to assist the day camp director with the activities and management of the children. The helper should plan to assist in set-up and take
down of the activity stations. May work independently with small groups of children.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Knowledge of behavior management and instructional methods
- Ability to plan organize coordinate and implement a day camp program
- Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes which are free to Parks employees. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems Child Care Licensing Division. Please see link for list of approved organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting
Physical Requirements:
May exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
