Job Summary
Senior Grade Occupational Therapist
Full-time Permanent
Bon Secours Hospital Cork is part of the Bon Secours Health System which is the largest independent hospital group in Ireland with over 2500 staff including 350 leading consultants. We treat more than 200000 patients annually.
The Occupational Therapy Department at Bon Secours Hospital Cork is now inviting applications for the above post from a suitably qualified candidate. The Occupational Therapy department provides a service to the following clinical specialties in Acute Medical Care Older Persons General surgery Neurology CCU Oncology and Palliative Care Plastics Orthopaedics & Rheumatology.
Essential requirements:
- BSc (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent recognised and validated qualification in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registered
- 3 years experience of which 2 years in Acute Hospital esp in elderly care and acute medical wards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interdisciplinary team working
- Proven clinical and organisational skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Desirable requirements:
- Membership of Association of Occupational Therapists Ireland or equivalent occupational therapy professional body
- Hand Therapy experience in Rheumatology Plastics and Orthopaedics for Adults
- Hand therapy CPD / Hand Therapy qualifications
The post holder will be required to work in any of the designated clinical specialities as directed by the Head of Department.
