Job Description Cost Estimator / Costing Engineer
Function: Finance (Costing)
Reporting To: Costing Head
Location: Pune HQ
Experience: 3 4 years (mandatory)
Qualification: BE / BTech / Diploma Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
Role Summary
The Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for engineered components and assemblies by analysing engineering drawings Bill of Materials (BOM) manufacturing processes and overheads. The role supports quotation preparation margin analysis and cost optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost sheets based on engineering drawings BOMs and process routings.
- Estimate material labour machine tooling overhead and logistics costs.
- Support RFQs and quotations in coordination with sales engineering and sourcing teams.
- Analyse manufacturing processes and identify key cost drivers.
- Compare estimated vs actual costs and support cost improvement initiatives.
- Support Sales and Leadership in price decision-making with fact-based cost logic
- Maintain costing data norms and documentation.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes (machining fabrication assembly etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel for cost calculations and analysis.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle / equivalent preferred).
- High accuracy analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
Experience Requirement
- 3 years of relevant experience in cost estimation / costing / quotation engineering.
- Hands-on experience in preparing cost sheets from drawings and BOMs is essential.
- Exposure to manufacturing or engineering organizations with sheet metal / stamping / Machined Tubular / fabricated products preferred.

Preferred / Added Advantage
- Experience in automotive / industrial engineering sector with sheet metal / stamping / Machined - Tubular / fabricated parts.
