Adaptation Analyst

The Climate Change Secretariat within the Department of Environment is a small but dedicated team responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Government of Yukons climate change initiatives and for providing government-wide leadership and coordination on the Yukons response to climate change. The secretariat works across Government of Yukon departments and with many external partners to lead and support the Yukons participation in climate change activities at local regional national and international levels.

The Adaptation Analyst at the Climate Change Secretariat is responsible for coordinating the Yukon Governments actions that focus on climate change adaptation efforts. This position works with government departments partners and stakeholders to research analyze develop communicate and implement climate change policies and strategies in a manner that contributes to the achievement of the Yukon governments adaptation goals and objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Policy Sustainability Environmental Science or equivalent;
  • Considerable experience in implementing climate change sustainability or environmental action plans.
  • Considerable experience in researching analyzing and communicating technical information to support decision-making in policy-driven environments.
  • Experience with project management preferably in a climate change field.

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience in the field of climate change adaptation climate risk management or related resilience fields;
  • Experience in the development of climate change policy.

Candidates who have education training and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications may be equally considered.
