Job Summary

Whats In It For You:

You will take on an interim finance leadership role during a defined transition period. The focus of the role is to keep existing finance operations running smoothly and accurately.

In addition to daytoday accounting oversight the role includes responsibility for maintaining clear communication with regional and global finance stakeholders. You will support the local team by providing structure guidance and clear documentation of existing processes.

You will work closely with local management while coordinating with overseas finance leaders to ensure reporting reviews and approvals continue without disruption.

This role requires onsite presence for effective collaboration with the local team. Candidates must be based locally.

Project Overview:

The organization is operating with a lean finance team following the departure of its senior finance leader and the temporary absence of another key finance role. Core finance activities are in place but there is a shortterm leadership and coordination gap.

The purpose of this interim role is to provide continuity in finance leadership ensure accuracy in accounting and reporting and reduce operational risk during this transition period.

A key outcome of the assignment is the stabilization of ongoing operations improved clarity in communication with regional stakeholders and the creation of clear and usable finance process documentation for the local team.

The role will be performed on an interim independent contractor basis.

Salary: 8000 - 10000 JPY/hour

Scope of Services:

Project-based Contract.

The interim role provides handson finance leadership and coordination across existing activities. The scope includes:

Providing daytoday finance leadership coverage during the transition period
Overseeing core accounting activities including monthend close and statutory reporting
Reviewing accounting entries reconciliations and financial outputs for accuracy and completeness
Preparing reviewing and coordinating management and regional reporting
Drafting documenting and standardizing local finance processes and workflows
Acting as the main point of contact between the local finance team and regional or global stakeholders
Supporting audit readiness internal controls and compliance requirements
Ensuring timely communication issue escalation and resolution across stakeholders
Coaching and supporting existing team members as needed to ensure continuity of operations

Qualifications and requirements:

Seniorlevel experience in accounting or finance leadership roles including interim or acting positionsStrong technical accounting knowledge including monthend close and statutory reporting
Experience working in multinational or regional reporting environments
Ability to document finance processes clearly and practically
Experience coordinating with overseas stakeholders without direct authority
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel
Businesslevel English and fluent or native Japanese
Ability to work independently in a small team environment
