Job Title: Expert Network Administrator

Task Order: HBITS

Agency: State of New York Department of Financial Services

Location: Hybrid New York NY

Duration: 30 Months

Rate: Depends on experience

Position Overview

Supporting the Department s hybrid security infrastructure. This role maintains computer infrastructures with emphasis on networking. Key areas of expertise are with on-site servers software-network interactions and network integrity/resilience. The selected candidate must be an expert-level professional capable of providing guidance to large teams and possessing extensive industry experience.

Responsibilities

Install configure and manage firewall security appliances in a high availability architecture.
Patch and maintain the appliance with all relevant security and upgrade software.
Implement changes to address new initiatives or application requirements as needed.
Monitor and support the VPN solution to ensure high availability in a secure manner.
Configure and manage Azure-based networking and security.
Create firewall rules VNETs and ExpressRoutes as required.
Monitor Security Center for compliance with all relevant security benchmarks and standards; assist in creating ARM templates as needed.
Produce network diagrams and documentation including standards policies procedures and orders of operations.
Mentor staff.

Qualifications

Expert Level: 7 years of experience; candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
7 years of Administration & Engineering experience with Enterprise Firewalls.
7 years of experience implementing security solutions covering Threat Prevention URL Filtering and SSL Decryption.
7 years of experience with firewall management systems.
7 years of experience with intrusion protection and prevention systems.
7 years of experience configuring routes and encrypted tunnels between remote locations.
7 years of experience developing and deploying BGP routing solutions.
7 years of experience with high availability network technologies and configurations.
7 years of experience with written communication skills including creating network diagrams documenting changes and composing orders of operations for tasks.
7 years of experience implementing and integrating network solutions based on Cisco LAN/WAN.
7 years of experience configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g. routers switches firewalls VPN).
7 years of network experience and understanding of Local Area Networks (LAN) Wide Area Networks (WAN) TCP/IP switching and routing protocols.
7 years of experience mentoring staff.
Fortinet NSE Certification required.
