Job Summary

The State of Michigan is looking for: Technical Writer 3

Rate: $45w2/hour w2 or 50 C2C
Location: Lansing MI

6 months with possible extension

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

- 4 years of general technical writer experience

- Minimum 1 year mentoring and working with teams to implement standards for documentation including the development and delivery of related training materials.

- Minimum 2 years reviewing existing documentation against standards. Documenting and prioritizing identified gaps.

- Minimum 1 year of working with work products and projects with purposeful ADA WCAG2.1AA focus.

- Minimum 1 year of experience working with ADA tools associated with technical writing (e.g. Microsoft accessibility checker Adobe accessibility checker etc.).

Clear and concise written and verbal communication is crucial to success and productivity in this role.

Interview Process: 1st round via MS Teams. 2nd round will likely be in-person. Candidates must be available for an in-person interview.

Duration: 6 months

Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1 two days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays are current required onsite days).

Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule). If you submit a non-local candidate who needs to relocate please ensure they are aware this is a short-term position.
