Job Summary
Job Title: Product Architect / Senior Application Architect (AI-Enabled Platforms)
Location: Atlanta GA Hybrid Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile Product Architect / Senior Application Architect to work closely with the IT Data Lead and guide architecture across multiple applications and AI-enabled products.
This is not a pure Data Architect role. The ideal candidate will understand product architecture system integrations and API-driven ecosystems and help design scalable AI-enabled applications. The role requires architectural leadership across multiple products while guiding junior engineers to execute effectively.
Hands-on coding is not the primary expectation but strong technical depth and the ability to review designs and implementation quality is required.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Application Architecture
Define and recommend best practices for product architecture across multiple applications
Design scalable modular API-first systems
Establish architecture standards for multi-application ecosystems
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape technical roadmaps
System Integration & APIs
Design integration patterns across applications using REST APIs and messaging frameworks
Ensure interoperability between internal systems and third-party services
Architect secure scalable integration strategies
AI & LLM Enablement
Guide integration of LLMs and AI services into applications
Design architectures supporting RAG vector databases and AI inference services
Ensure AI-enabled features are production-ready secure and scalable
Technical Leadership
Work alongside senior leadership (including Data lead) on cross-platform architecture
Provide architectural oversight across multiple product streams
Guide and mentor junior engineers
Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
Required Experience
10 years in software/application architecture or product engineering
Proven experience architecting multi-application or SaaS product ecosystems
Strong understanding of microservices distributed systems and API-first design
Experience integrating LLMs or AI services into production applications
Experience working across multiple concurrent applications
Strong system design and integration expertise
Ability to guide teams without needing to be deeply hands-on daily
Preferred Experience
Azure-based architecture experience
Experience with Azure OpenAI or similar AI services
Exposure to event-driven architecture (Service Bus Kafka etc.)
Experience working with Product Managers and defining technical roadmaps
Ideal Candidate Profile
Thinks like a product architect not just a data architect
Comfortable designing integration-heavy systems
Understands how AI features plug into applications
Can operate across multiple product streams simultaneously
Senior enough to guide and review engineering work
