Job Summary
Senior AI Engineer (AWS Data Lake Migration Project)
- Position: Senior AI Engineer (Contract W2 only)
- Duration: 1-year contract
- Location: Remote
- Project Objective:
- Migrate 100 HomeServe systems and databases into an AWS data lake starting with a raw bronze layer lift-and-shift.
- Initial focus on top 5 priority systems (e.g. CRM ERP).
- Scope & Approach:
- Raw data ingestion as first phase with future transformations/refinements.
- High-priority deliverables due by end of June.
- Project spans cloud on-premises and third-party environments.
- Key Challenges:
- Accessing diverse complex source systems.
- Managing inconsistent tooling and migration strategies.
- Addressing technical leadership and skill gaps.
- Ensuring effective governance and stakeholder confidence.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Provide strong technical leadership and direction for data migration and AI initiatives.
- Develop pilot and deploy generative AI solutions to support business operations.
- Refine and optimize AI-generated outputs (prompt engineering).
- Integrate solutions with cloud platforms (AWS APIs Cloud Functions).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical execution with business needs.
- Monitor AI impact on business metrics and stay abreast of new AI advancements.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development with a focus on generative AI.
- Proficient in Python Java or .
- In-depth knowledge of machine learning NLP or deep learning and relevant AI frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for cross-team coordination.
- Key Needs:
- Deliver high-priority migration milestones under tight deadlines.
- Establish a clear standardized architecture and migration framework.
- Provide technical credibility and project confidence across business stakeholders.
- Shift project approach from experimental AI automation to structured data engineering best practices.
