Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. The role includes performing cardiac and general ultrasound scans ensuring high-quality imaging and maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols.
Conduct cardiac (heart) scans and general ultrasound imaging.
Prepare and position patients to obtain optimal imaging results.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic images.
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to support patient diagnosis and care.
Maintain proper documentation of imaging procedures and patient records.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of general registered ultrasound experience.
Experience performing cardiac (heart) scans and cardiac ultrasound imaging.
Completion of an approved ultrasound technologist training program.
Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as required.
Education: Completion of an appropriate training program for Ultrasound Technologist (including Military Training if applicable).
Certifications
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
