Job Summary

Private Family in Grosse Pointe Shores Seeking an Executive Housekeeper (Live-In)

A private family (two retired adults) in Grosse Pointe Shores is seeking an experienced professional Executive Housekeeper to join their established household team. This is a full-time live-in position (private nearby condo provided not within the main residence) working MondayFriday 9:00 AM5:00 PM.

We are open to candidates who currently reside out of state. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right individual.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled discreet service-oriented and experienced in working within a refined private household. Professional presentation calm demeanor and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.

Compensation: $80000$90000 per year commensurate with experience.

The family is ideally seeking someone who can begin within the next month; however they are committed to finding the right long-term fit.

Key Responsibilities

Executive-Level Housekeeping

  • Hands-on daily cleaning and maintenance of a large private residence
  • Expert care of special surfaces antiques fine art and fine furnishings (detailed care instructions provided)
  • Weekly bed changes bathroom sanitation linen management
  • Household and personal laundry ironing and wardrobe care
  • Detailed dusting vacuuming polishing and buffing waxed floors
  • Maintaining exceptional organizational standards (a place for everything and everything in its place)
  • Careful detail-oriented approach to protect valuable collections and furnishings

Household Operations

  • Weekly grocery shopping and household supply management
  • Running household errands
  • Identifying maintenance and repair needs proactively
  • Coordinating and scheduling service vendors
  • Maintaining inventory of household supplies

Pets & Travel Support

  • Comfortable caring for and engaging with household pets (required)
  • House-sitting and full animal care during principals travel (compensated separately)

Entertaining & Service

  • Knowledge of formal entertaining standards
  • Ability to assist with service or coordinate with caterers during events (compensated separately)

Household Team

The Executive Housekeeper will work alongside:

  • Full-Time Property Manager/Gardener
  • Full-Time Administrative Assistant
  • Part-Time Housekeeper

Collaboration professionalism and clear communication are important to maintaining a harmonious household environment.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • MUST have prior experience working in a private home in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience caring for antiques fine furnishings and specialty surfaces
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Discreet trustworthy and respectful of confidentiality
  • Professional presentation and demeanor
  • Team-oriented with a positive drama-free attitude
  • Comfortable with pets
  • Authorized to work in the United States
