Job Summary

Job Summary (List Format) Acute Care Sonographer II

- Provides ultrasound imaging services to assist in diagnosis or treatment primarily in a complex acute care inpatient setting.
- Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures and related techniques independently producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
- Assists physicians and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Completes thorough and accurate documentation for all performed exams ensuring proper interpretation reporting archiving and retrieval.
- Maintains correct distribution billing and archival processes for exams and procedures.
- Reviews previous studies reports and health information to ensure timely and accurate ultrasound services.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals and strategic plans.
- Demonstrates professional judgment maintains confidentiality and performs effectively in busy high-stress environments.
- Utilizes and learns current and new computer applications and office equipment as required.
- Communicates effectively with patients physicians and other staff using strong interpersonal verbal and written skills.
- Analyzes organizes and prioritizes work to meet multiple deadlines and organizational needs.
- Adheres to schedule requirements including potential overtime weekends after-hours and on-call shifts.
- Performs physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs) standing walking bending reaching and fine-finger movements.
- Maintains safety and compliance with exposure protocols related to bloodborne pathogens radiation chemicals and infectious diseases.
- Handles emotionally challenging situations involving patients and families with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Fulfills all required education and certification requirements in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
