Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care to postpartum and labor & delivery patients including those with high-risk obstetric conditions. Responsibilities include administering medications monitoring patient conditions and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role requires experience in high-risk obstetric care managing magnesium infusions and proficiency with EPIC.
Location:Seattle Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-risk obstetric care to patients.
- Administer magnesium infusions.
- Manage Pitocin administration.
- Insert and manage Foley catheters.
- Manage postpartum hemorrhage situations.
- Care for up to 4 couplets.
- Manage patients experiencing substance withdrawal.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs.
- Notify appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in a compact state.
- BLS certification.
- NRP certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience with high-risk obstetric care.
- Experience with Magnesium infusions.
- Experience with EPIC.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- JADA experience.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float between Issaquah Campus (Postpartum) and Edmonds Campus (Postpartum Labor and Delivery for 2nd hour of recovery).
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers.
- Perm candidates of any non-Swedish facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.
Scheduling:
- Includes 6 weekend days per contract.
