Government & Regulatory Affairs - Trade Remedies Associate
About the Role:
As an Associate in the Trade Remedies group you will work on complex trade matters involving investigations administrative proceedings and litigation. The role offers significant hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop deep expertise in U.S. trade laws while advising domestic and international clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and reviews before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission
- Building and managing the administrative record before relevant agencies
- Developing and presenting legal arguments and strategic case positions
- Supporting and leading litigation before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- Advising clients on trade policy and regulatory developments before the Executive Branch and Congress
- Providing counsel on broader trade remedy and compliance matters including matters involving:
- Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962
- Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1930
- The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling antidumping and countervailing duty matters
- Experience before the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. International Trade Commission
- Background in private practice or relevant U.S. government experience
- Demonstrated ability to build administrative records and develop persuasive legal arguments
- Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
- Interest in complex international trade policy and regulatory work
