Job Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to design develop and validate safety-critical control software for off-highway and agricultural machinery. The role focuses on steering hydraulic and ADAS-related systems using model-based development and industry-standard functional safety practices.
This position involves close collaboration with systems mechanical and verification teams and plays a key role in delivering reliable production-ready embedded control solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop embedded control algorithms for steering hydraulic and actuation systems using MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded C.
Translate system-level and customer requirements into detailed software specifications and implement them in model-based architecture.
Develop and maintain ISO 26262-compliant functional safety solutions including fault monitoring diagnostics safe-state handling and degradation strategies.
Execute MIL SIL and HIL testing to validate functional behavior safety mechanisms and system robustness.
Integrate embedded controllers with CAN/J1939 communication networks validating signals diagnostics and timing behavior.
Support system integration activities include controller bring-up wiring validation sensor troubleshooting and field testing.
Collaborate with mechanical systems and V&V teams to define motion requirements tune control performance and resolve cross-disciplinary issues.
Ensure models comply with AUTOSAR guidelines and internal modeling standards for scalability and reuse.
Participate in design reviews safety reviews and release readiness activities ensuring traceability and compliance.
Automate and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Jenkins) for model builds code generation and regression testing.
Prepare and review technical documentation including software design descriptions validation reports and safety artifacts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field.
8 years of experience in embedded systems or control software development (off-highway automotive robotics or industrial domains).
Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design.
Solid understanding of embedded control systems real-time behavior and closed-loop control.
Experience with CAN/J1939 protocols and networked embedded systems.
Proven experience with MIL/SIL/HIL testing methodologies.
Working knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts.
Proficiency in C/C for embedded systems.
Experience using CANalyzer CANape or equivalent tools.
Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in steering or hydraulic control systems.
Exposure to ADAS or autonomous system functions.
AUTOSAR modeling or embedded software experience.
Experience supporting machine builds and field validation.
Background in safety documentation such as FMEA fault trees or safety traceability.
