Role Overview
Accenture is seeking an elite AWS High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to support a mission-critical project for Amazon. This role sits at the intersection of deep backend engineering and sophisticated cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for building optimizing and scaling high-performance workloads that require low latency and massive computational power.
The ideal candidate is a polyglot developer who is as comfortable writing memory-safe code in Rust as they are orchestrating large-scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters.
Key Responsibilities- Backend Development: Write and optimize high-performance code in Rust Python and C to handle complex computational tasks within the customers HPC environment.
- HPC Orchestration: Manage and scale High Performance Computing clusters ensuring optimal resource utilization and job scheduling.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and maintain resilient cloud environments using Terraform prioritizing automated repeatable deployments.
- Container Strategy: Lead container orchestration efforts using Amazon EKS to manage microservices and batch processing workloads.
- Storage Optimization: Design and implement high-throughput storage solutions utilizing FSx for Lustre and EFS to meet the rigorous I/O demands of HPC.
- Database Design: Oversee database optimization and design to support large-scale data ingestion and processing.
Required Technical Skills1. Backend & Programming (The Core)- Rust: Advanced proficiency is required. Rust depth is our primary barometer for success in this specific environment.
- Python & C: Strong working knowledge for legacy integration and scripting.
- HPC Experience: Prior experience with HPC clusters schedulers (like Slurm) or parallel computing.
2. AWS Infrastructure & IaC (Priority Order)- Amazon EKS: Expert-level container orchestration.
- Terraform: Mastery of Infrastructure as Code for complex environments.
- Storage: Specialized experience with FSx for Lustre and EFS.
- Core Services: Deep familiarity with EC2 S3 and Lambda.
Logistics & Travel- Remote Work: This position is 100% remote.
- Travel Flexibility: While the work is remote candidates must be flexible and willing to travel to the client site as requested for high-level technical deep dives or critical project milestones.
Candidate ProfileWe are looking for an engineer who thrives on complexity. You should be someone who enjoys the nitty-gritty of memory management and system-level programming while maintaining a big picture view of cloud infrastructure.
