Job Summary
Title: SAP Finance Architect
Location: Travel biweekly to Rochester MN
Role Overview: S/4HANA Finance Architect to play a key leadership role in a complex multi entity ERP Transformation Program involving a Brownfield Conversion (ECC S/4HANA Private Cloud) and a Greenfield S/4HANA implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead the end to end S/4HANA Finance architecture covering FI CO New GL/Universal Journal AA AP AR Banking Treasury and integration to logistics modules.
- Drive conversion readiness activities including CVI (BP Conversion) Universal Journal migration and simplification item remediation.
- Define the target financial data model including:
- Chart of Accounts (CoA) harmonization
- Cost center profit center segment fund grant design
- Tax asset accounting treasury and cash processes
- IFRS/GAAP reporting alignment
- Architect SAP Best Practices adoption for the Greenfield implementation and guide design decisions aligned with Clean Core principles.
- Client Engagement & Leadership
- Serve as the primary finance design authority in front of senior stakeholders.
- Conduct workshops: Discover Fit/Gap Design and Playback Sessions.
- Implementation & Delivery Oversight
- Provide functional oversight during configuration development and testing cycles.
- Guide the creation of:
- Functional specifications (WRICEF)
- Integration designs (Ariba SuccessFactors WFS banking external portals)
- Migration objects for Greenfield Implementation
- Ensure smooth execution of SIT UAT and Cutover readiness.
- Support cutover reconciliations mock conversions and month end validation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical & Functional Expertise
- 12 years of SAP Finance experience; 2 full cycle S/4HANA programs required.
- Expert-level understanding of Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and S/4HANA financial data structures
- Deep knowledge of Following S/4HANA Finance Modules

- Banking interfaces MBC EDI 3rd party procurement systems
- Deep knowledge of integrations between:
- FI MM (GR/IR inventory valuation)
- FI SD (billing rev rec credit management)
- FI PM/EAM (asset postings maintenance orders)
- FI HR/SuccessFactors (payroll cost allocations)
- FI Ariba (Sourcing Contracts P2P)
- Ability to evaluate customizations vs. SAP standard ensuring Clean Core.
