DescriptionThe Center for Career Exploration & Development is looking for a Host to continue our successful career-focused podcast Career Corner into Season 7 and beyond. Career Corner includes interviews with students alumni faculty professional staff and other experts in the field who share their success stories and will provide the latest information that will help Bombers in their career journey. The Career Center is looking for an engaging and energetic host to join the podcast in the Fall of 2026.
Career Corner is an interview-based video podcast released on YouTube and Spotify. As host this individual will be the face and voice of the show. They will be responsible for preparing for and conducting interviews with IC alums current students/faculty/staff and industry experts on a variety of career development topics.
This paid position allows a student to use their creativity and communication skills to have engaging conversations related to topics of career exploration and development.
- The Host of the podcast will be working closely with the student Producer to enact the podcast production timeline (approximately ten episodes per semester/season)
- The Host will record interviews using IC recording equipment or their personal laptop with IC alums and current students/faculty/staff.
- This role will work with the Producer to develop engaging questions and themes for each episode.
- The Host will work alongside the Director and Associate Director of the Career Center (along with other staff as needed) who will provide context and direction and will have final determination along with other necessary stakeholders regarding what the finished product needs to include.
- This student employment position will take place from August 2026 through the end of the fall 2026 semester (with the opportunity to continue into the spring if all parties are interested) and the Host will be expected to work 3-5 hours per week.
- This role will be conducted completely in-person with the need to produce the actual episodes in a studio on campus.
- Knowledge of how to use editing audio and working with studio equipment and technology
- Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
- Interest in career development
- Commitment to support educate and empower students from minority identity groups
- Proven work ethic time management and attention to detail
- Ability to present yourself professionally and confidently
- Public speaking and professional networking skills
- Ability to utilize editing software and audio equipment
- Proficiency in Adobe Audition Pro Tools Zoom or other related software preferred
