Job Description
As a Security Officer - Proactive Unarmed Patrol in Long Island City NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelter and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal you will monitor and patrol residential buildings and shelter locations completing routine rounds and maintaining a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control observe and report concerns and provide responsive customer service to residents guests and staff. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents staff visitors and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures and policies including access control and visitor management.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential and shelter areas including common spaces hallways entrances and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including verbal de-escalation contacting site leadership and/or requesting public emergency services when appropriate.
- Monitor alarms doors gates and other access points reporting malfunctioning equipment unsecured areas and/or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Document shift activity incidents and patrol observations in written reports and/or electronic logs and communicate pertinent information during shift turnover.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
