POSITION TITLE:Faculty BusinessPOSITION SUMMARY
Adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive attitude. Demonstrate respect for students; understand learning styles and apply understanding to institution-related activities; demonstrate integrity and promote diversity and open communications. Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a standard load. Course assignments may be day late afternoon evening Saturday online or at branch campuses or satellite centers. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a minimum of 15 credit hour load per semester in three of the following courses: Intro to Business Business Communications Finance Principles of Management Principles of Marketing.
closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements curriculum and academic support.
in course development assessment and planning activities.
willing to teach online and/or blended hybrid courses.
in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.
students with academic advising.
informed on current trends and developments in both national and international business by attending seminars and workshops.
in and/or actively lead Student Club sponsorship responsibilities.
a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at other campus sites as needed.
other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Business Finance or related field
in appropriate technologies for instruction.
commitment to teaching and learning.
years of teaching experience at collegiate level
to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
commitment to the colleges core values of respect and inclusion sustainability integrity collaboration humor and well-being innovation and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
experience at the community college level.
with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
in teaching online and/or using course management programs.
in course development and assessment planning quality and accreditation processes and committee service.
and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
classroom physical demands along with equipment and software.
WORKING CONDITIONS
are performed indoors in the usual classroom and office environment.
