Job Description:
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. This position includes responsibility for providing comprehensive care across the full procedural spectrumpre-operative assessment intra-procedure support and post-procedure recoveryfor a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures in pulmonary gastroenterology and ENT specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments and preparations for scheduled endoscopic procedures
Assist during procedures ensuring patient safety and monitoring sedation
Manage post-procedure recovery and patient readiness for discharge or further care
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for effective case management
Participate in a part-time call rotation (34 shifts/month) including one weekend every 2 months
Qualifications:
Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license)
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; procedural or critical care preferred
BLS and ACLS certification required
Strong interpersonal organizational and critical thinking skills
Ability to function well in a dynamic team-based environment
