Job Summary
Marriott International is looking for a motivated andinnovative seniorplatformengineer to support the automation and management of ourcloud infrastructureplatform. This is an opportunity for an engineer withstrongexpertiseininfrastructureas code(Terraform)DevOps cloud technologies(AWS) and infrastructure automation to grow their skills in a collaborative enterprise-scale environment.
In this role you will contribute to the development and maintenance ofscalable infrastructure modules and patterns support cloud databaseplatform engineering and help drive closely witharchitects application developers who rely on our infrastructureandotherplatformteams taking ownership of your deliverables and communicating effectively to ensure alignment and success.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Automation & Support
Assistin developing andmaintainingTerraform modules for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
Design and implement new automations and modules based on stakeholder requirements
Drive operational maturity within the infrastructure automation platform
Platform Operations
Deliver automation to supportself-serviceinfrastructure provisioningand ongoing operations to be used byapp devand platform engineering teams within Marriott
Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement of platform stabilitythrough initiatives like release test automation for infrastructure modules and observability
Communication & Collaboration
Work closely with application teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Communicate clearly and proactively providing updates documentation and support as needed.
Learning & Growth
Take initiative to learn new tools and technologies especially in areas like observability (Dynatrace) and policy as code(OPA OSCAL)
Contribute to documentation diagrams and knowledge sharing to support team success.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
6 years of experience in anengineering roleemphasizinginfrastructureas code (Terraform) devops and platform automation
Strong experience with:
Terraform(3-5years of experience)
DevOps automation tools andstrategies(eg:Harness)
Scripting languages (e.g. Python)
Cloud platforms (AWS)
Databaseas a Servicetechnologies (CouchbaseandAWS DBaaSProducts)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability tointerface withusers both in the context of providing support and collecting requirements
Growth-first mindsetcharacterized by awillingnessto learn andstep out of comfort zone in terms of skillset
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality results.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in policy as code frameworks (e.g. OPA Sentinel).
Experience working with observability tools like Dynatrace
Experiencein Go
Experiencedeveloping in and using Harnesspipelines
Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
