Role: Lead Cloud Platform Engineer
On-site requirements: 4-days/week at 1 Park Ave South Building plus ad hoc requests to come in based on projects
Duration: Contract to hire after 6 months
In this role the successful candidate at client cloud computing allows us to consolidate IT infrastructure automate operational workloads and pave the way forward modernizing our processes to pursue next-generation innovation. We leverage multiple cloud vendors public and private that cater to our clinical administrative education and research staff. Reporting to the Director of Unix Platforms we are seeking a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer experienced in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) who will be responsible for designing implementing and managing cloud infrastructure and services.
The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer will be part of our Platform Technologies and Cloud Operations team and will work in tandem with clients teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for our company. This would include performing assessments collaborating with other cloud vendors and infrastructure teams and working with key strategic partners/vendors to monitor services security cloud usage resource allocation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services and ensure all are properly maintained and always within accepted MCIT policies and guidelines. The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer will also have the chance to offer new ideas on how we continue to develop our multi-platform technologies. Platform Technologies and Cloud Operations teams are comprised of plan-build-run for both private and cloud as well as physical and virtualized servers storage networks databases and critical applications.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a B.S. degree in information systems computer science or related field
7 years expertise in implementing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions leveraging cloud-native services serverless computing microservices architectures and containerization on AWS Azure and GCP.
6 years of experience in designing developing and implementing cloud solutions on AWS Platforms with recent certification of AWS Professional level or higher.
6 years of experience in designing developing and implementing cloud solutions on Azure and GCP Platforms with recent certification of Associate level or higher in both Azure and GCP.
4 years of experience in Kubernetes with recent certification in CKA or equivalent.
In depth knowledge and demonstrative abilities to apply the six pillars of a well-architected framework across all three cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP)
Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines managing automation platforms and automating software releases in DevOps environments.
Effective communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Health care experience a plus; understanding of the requirements of an integrated academic medical center.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
