Respiratory Therapy Manager

Job Summary
Essential Duties
- Lead Department
- Ensures scheduling and staffing are sufficient to provide patient care
- Interviews hires and trains staff
- Performs as preceptor to confirms competency of staff providing respiratory therapy
- Provides quality assurance to continuously improve RT function (Chart auditing quality data collection and documentation Key performance indicators)
- Ensures respiratory equipment devices and suppliers are adequate to meet patient needs; Organizes orders and manages RT department supplies and inventory
- Ensures safety of patients and staff members through enforcement and following of policies and procedures
- Mentors & sets a positive example to guides other RT staff in standards and best practices
- Provide Respiratory Care
- Provides patient care for Respiratory therapy needs consulting with medical staff and executing medical orders accurately and timely following standards and protocols
- Setups and operates RT therapy devices to ensure parameters of treatment
- Administers medicinal gases and medications within acceptable error rate
- Evaluates outcomes and interventions and implements necessary changes to improve care
- Observes equipment functions and makes adjustments to obtain optimum results in therapy
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- 2 year Associates Degree in RT
- Minimum of 5 years of RT patient care experience (preferably in hospital setting)
- Minimum of 1 year management / supervisory experience (3-5 years preferred)
- Active license as RT in the state of MO
- Active BLS and ACLS certification
