Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Class B Fitter Welder to join a manufacturing team in Collinsville. The Class B Fitter Welder will be responsible for performing fit-up and welding tasks according to blueprints engineering drawings and ASME code requirements.

This Class B Fitter Welder position requires strong knowledge of MIG and Flux Core welding processes along with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fabrication environment.

Weld Test Requirements

Candidates must pass the following test:

3G MIG & Flux Core weld on plate
Downhill MIG root
Uphill Flux Core fill and cap

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Class B Fitter Welder role includes:

Prepare parts and tools for welding and fit-up activities
Perform welding using FCAW and GMAW processes when directed by the supervisor
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine welding specifications
Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring tools
Operate and maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools
Use powered and manual hand tools during fabrication tasks
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
Work overtime or weekends as required by production needs

Required Qualifications

Experience with MIG and Flux Core welding processes
Knowledge of ASME code requirements
Ability to read blueprints and welding specifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to operate welding equipment and fabrication tools safely
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
