The Metropolitan Water Districts Water System Operations Group has two (2) openings for EHSField Specialist I. The positions are locations at Jensen(Granada Hills) and Weymouth (La Verne)
In this roleyoullserve as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Field Specialist I supporting Metropolitans commitment to safety compliance and environmental will learn andassistin providing environmental health and safety consultation guidance and compliance support across Metropolitan facilities. This is an opportunity to build foundational EHS experience while contributing to a mission-driven organization that protects both people and critical infrastructure.

Learn andassistwith the development and implementation of environmental health and safety (EHS) programs.
Learns andassistsin EHS inspections investigations and compliance activities at assigned facilities.
Preparingreports documentation and records related to EHS activities.
Support the delivery of EHS training and safety awareness initiatives.
Collaborate with staff across multiple disciplines andtechnicalbackgrounds to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Learns andassistswith responding to emergency calls or events and ensures that proper Environmental Health and Safety management procedures are followed.
Work extended periods in remote locations away from the normal reporting site as operational needs dictate.

The first position is based out of theJensenoffice withtwo days per weekon-site at Jensen andtwo daysatCarson.
The second position is based out of theWeymouthoffice withfour days per weekon-site at that location.
Both rolesrequire traveland the ability to provide supportwithinMetropolitansService areaasneeded.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university in a related field; or four years of experience in an applicable Metropolitan classification in a related field.
Related Field is defined as:
Environmental Occupational Health and Safety or anotherdirectly relatedfield.
This classification performs work that requiresmaintainingconfidentiality and is routinely privy to matters involving confidential information sensitive personnel issues or strategic corporate information.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
Valid California Class C Drivers License or equivalent (requiredat time of application) that allows you to drive during employment.
Certification:
California Gas Tester Certification (may berequiredto obtain andmaintain).

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
