Mechanical Service Specialist

Shop Duties:

Disassemble inspect clean and rebuild gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly.

Assemble gearboxes/products according to blueprints engineering drawings bills of materials inspection reports and written procedures.

Utilize precision measuring tools including micrometers depth mics and other inspection instruments.

Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation.

Rework and/or repair assembled equipment according to engineering specifications.

Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet established standards.

Operate overhead crane and forklift safely.

Use hand-held power tools precision tools and manual tools.

Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices.

Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures and company quality standards.

Work in a team environment to accomplish shop goals.
Field Service Duties:

Travel to customer sites to assist with installation inspection troubleshooting and repair of gearbox.

Troubleshoot and diagnose gearbox system failures.

Inspect equipment and create customer condition reports.

Communicate professionally with customers during repairs.

Prepare accurate service documentation for customer signature upon completion.

Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures prior to servicing equipment.

Comply with all company and customer site safety policies.

Maintain required safety certifications and PPE in good condition.

Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Ability to stand bend squat lift push and pull for extended periods.

Ability to perform repetitive movements for up to 12 hours.

Comfortable working in both shop and industrial field environments.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

35 years of mechanical assembly experience (gearbox experience preferred).

Working knowledge of mechanical components and assemblies.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams and technical procedures.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work accurately and thoroughly while maintaining safety as a priority.

Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites.

Ability to work overtime as needed.
