Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the general direction of the Senior Speech-Language Pathologist Prevention Services responsible for providing comprehensive clinical speech services coordination and development of selected Program components and promoting in the community awareness and maximal use/preservation of speech abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner. Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from a recognized university. Current knowledge base in all areas of speech-language pathology encompassed in the Prevention Services Speech Clinics. Valid BC Drivers Licence/car required. Public speaking skills required. Hanen certification - level one - It Takes Two to Talk desirable.

- Ability to work independently demonstrates time management skills and prioritizes workload.
- Ability to operate a personal computer is an asset.
- Ability to conduct adult education groups on preschool speech and language topics.
