Job Description
UW Medicine has outstanding opportunities for Nurse Technicians at our UW Medical Center-Montlake & UW Medical Center-Northwest locations. Clinical areas requesting Nurse Techs could include med-surg oncology neurology behavioral health surgical Emergency Department and ICU.
START DATE/ORIENTATION:
- May 27th or June 18th 2026
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing direct care collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care and communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
- Collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge.
- Perform a variety of tasks including transporting patients supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking supplies; and ensuring patient safety through monitoring and assessment safe patient mobilization and hygiene activities.
ORIENTATION SCHEDULE:
If you are offered a position there is a required initial two session class orientation.
- Day One (May 27th or June 18th 2026): New Employee Orientation - 2:00pm 8:00pm In-Person
- Day Two: Specialized Nurse Tech EPIC training & access - 3pm-6pm Virtual
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrollment in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program and have at least 6 months to work prior to graduation.
- Must have completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation.
- BLS certification resume one clinical evaluation and completed school Skills Checklist are required.
- Be available to work a minimum of 1 day per week (some units require more).
